Gods and Goddesses
In ancient Rome there was one main religion of Gods and Goddesses that the people of Ancient Rome would follow.
The religion that the Ancient Romans followed was often practiced throughout their homes. Many families would have an altar where they would offer sacrifices to a certain God or Goddess for any different reason.
The main Gods and Goddesses where;
Over time the Romans made contact with the Greeks and noticed that there were many similarities between their Gods and Goddesses. The Romans also began to think of their deities in a human form. This led the Romans to build temples, letting the Romans praise their deities and offer sacrifices in a better way.
Throughout a long period of time the Romans took on many different religions. But one very strong belief is one that was brought over from Palestine and is known all over the world. This religion was Christianity. Christianity was first introduced to the Romans in the first century, and is continued today as their main religion.

- Jupiter, the king of the Gods and Goddesses (also known as deities) also the God of thunder and lightning.
- Juno, the queen of the deities, the wife of Jupiter and the Goddess of women and childbirth.
- Neptune, the king of the sea.
- Ceres, the Goddess of agriculture.
- Minerva, Goddess of wisdom.
- Mars, the God of war.
- Bacchus, God of wine.
- Venus, Goddess of love.
- Vulcan, God of fire.
- Mercury God of trade.
- Cupid, God of love.
